The move is widely considered to be retaliation for Disney executives' critical stance on Florida legislation passed last month. Disney was initially mum on the Florida legislation prohibiting the discussion of gender identity and sexual orientation in kindergarten through third-grade public school classrooms. The company's stance, however, changed in March following backlash from LGBTQ advocates and allies. Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced that not only did the company oppose the bill, but that it would be donating $5 million to LGBTQ rights organizations including the Human Rights Campaign. Do you think the bill to revoke the special self-governing privileges afforded to Disney is retaliation for their stance on the Florida legislation ?

During his bill signing ceremony for the Florida legislation, DeSantis presented an example of what he considers inappropriate teaching material for the young students: A poster containing a drawing of "The Genderbread Person," developed to help students learn about and distinguish between anatomical sex, gender expression, gender identity, sexual attraction and romantic attraction. The graphic has been included in various anti-bullying training programs and offered as a resource by the Washington-based LGBTQ rights advocacy group Human Rights Campaign and others. Would you consider this inappropriate teaching material?
