It was a slow day at work at the Smokey Barque restaurant in Frankfort, IL, so Brendan Motill chatted with a customer who had just moved into town. The entire conversation only lasted 10 minutes. Imagine Brendan's surprise when the customer left him a $1,000 tip on his $20 meal bill. The customer left before Brendan could even thank him, but included a note that read "You're doing a great job as a server. I don't know what your hopes and dreams are in this life, but I hope this tip helps. My hope is that people were more peaceful to each other. The world can be so negative, I commit random acts of kindness to let others know there can be another way." Are you familiar with this story?
