In light of the recent tornado in Oklahoma, many were surprised that a school did not have an underground tornado shelter that they could take the children to for safety. As well, there was a lot of surprise that so few people had basements in their homes or any safe place to go if a tornado was coming. Many cited that it was too expensive to build one.
