In recovery, specifically 12 step groups, it is sometimes customary for the meeting speaker (10-60min) to share in this format: what it was like, what happened, and what it's like now. I am almost 34 years sober and I have stories that fit that criteria so does my daughter, almost 2 years sober. Big deal/no big deal. However, I know someone who was, for years even as a minor, a huge drug dealer, just huge. His family constantly moving, always getting arrested, always high. At one point my son saw him do a dope deal, and he at one time sold to my daughter, yep. He eventually went to prison, one of my neighbors and I always praying for him. Last year I saw him, and he is completely clean, graduated with all A's, on his way to a 4 year university for his business degree, walks different, looks different, and talks different. I have never, ever seen anything like this in my life. It is still almost unbelievable to me. I call it my real first miracle, I do. Do you have anything that you have experienced, that has left you in awe; and the only way to explain it is by calling it a miracle?
Yes, and I call it a miracle

There are other things in life that are miraculous, like when a child is born with 10 fingers and 10 toes. I am not speaking of the obvious things. Having said that, the only other event that has left me with my mouth wide open, calling it a miracle, is when Captain Sully landed his plane on the Hudson, and everyone lived. I can watch it over and over and I almost just cannot believe it. Are there events that have left you feeling the same way? (news events, things of this nature)
Yes, and I agree with the Plane on the Hudson

I have also experienced being flat broke, and someone will give me money, or I will get a refund check in the mail for a utility deposit that I forgot. It amazes me when this happens, because it's right when I need it. Have you experienced the same or similar? Yes

In closing, if you use the term, Miracle, does it have to be on the grand scale of landing a plane on the Hudson, or do you use the term for smaller things that happen in life? (My apologies for trying to assign a quantitative value to miracles). I dont use the term miracle
