3 CELLS???????????Boy that is a lot of money.Either get rid of all your CELLS or the landline. We can not have one out this way, because the only providers of landlines out this way are BELL or ROGERS.BOTH AWFUL companies!

We haven't had a land line in years. We got magic jack and have used that. We have one of the older ones and sometimes I have trouble getting good reception with it. Maybe the new ones have better reception but for $20 a year, I can't really complain. We have prepaid cell phones and it would cost a fortune to use those as our main phone. We tried it and I was buying minutes like once a week.

There are so many studies out now about the ill effects of cell phones, it's good to use the landline when you can just to minimize exposure.

I had a landline, moved and did not, then wanted it for back up...to what, all phones are cordless...the power is out the phone isn't going to work. Getting rid of it again and buying a second cheap as cheap cell phone for emergencies. Oh, tv does not control me. It's entertainment. If tv is controlling your mind, see a psychiatrist.

I was wondering the same thing! I have had a land line for so long, but I would like to get rid of it because there are 3 cell phones in my home also. Anyone else use Magic Jack??? I have had the same phone number for over 40 years and don't want to lose it though IF I cancel my land line and want it back!

We use Vonage (VOIP) for our landline $25.00 a month. At 7-11 you can get a cell from Speak Out Wireless for $25. prepaid for a year with a Nokia handset. It doesn't have any features and I only use it for emergencies. These fit into my budget very well, and believe me its a tight budget.

I think if you have net and have that bundled with your landline then it would be cheaper to keep the land line. If your internet is separate from your landline then I would say go ahead if it saves you some money.

I got rid of my home phone line years ago and have just used a cell phone,However we moved out to the country 6 months ago and get no cell service out here because of the lack of towers in the area, they are planning on adding some in the near future, but until they do we had to get a landline and we can still drive to town and use our cell phones if we want.

I have had Magic Jack for 2 years...You will never beat it!!! They don't have a phone number for you to call but there is always online help available...you can keep your landline phone number. but there is a charge for it...well worth the investment...the calls come in clear for the most part. and you will be able to not only call anywhere in the continental U.S. but you can call Canada as well for $1.70 a month if you sign up for 5 years. I will never go back to a landline again...and..I don't waste precious cell phone minutes either!!
