Two years ago, Alberta entrepreneur Jeremy Guenette discovered the “dirty soda” trend in the U.S. — fizzy drinks mixed with syrups, cream, and fruit flavors — and brought it to Canada with Sip Soda Co. Dirty sodas are now appearing at fairs, in national chains like Crumbl, and on Instagram feeds. Industry experts say their colorful, “destination” appeal is driving growth. An example of a dirty soda would be Diet Coke with Coconut syrup + fresh lime juice mixed in, with a splash of half-and-half.
