A new survey from EQ Bank finds Canadians are adjusting their spending habits amid economic uncertainty and pausing on larger purchases to build up emergency savings.
The survey found that 53 per cent of respondents increased the size of their emergency savings over the past three months or are considering doing so. Another 45 per cent of respondents indicated they are holding off on major purchases or life events, in order to prioritize building up their emergency savings.

More than a third secretly hate being asked to help someone move
More than a third (38%) secretly hate being asked to help their friends and family move — they can only entice help through payments of food and drinks (38%), money (33%) or returning the favor when the time comes (17%).

Half of Americans have a mealtime ritual for their dogs
Nearly half of dog owners say their pet has a “meal ritual” — and some of them are extreme. That's according to a survey of 2,000 dog owners, which found 44% said their pet performs a precise routine or behavior at mealtime.From whining or barking (21%) and jumping up and down (21%) to doing a little dance (21%) and wiggling their whole backside (19%), almost half of participants said their pet has a signature “move” when it’s time to eat.
