2 In 3 Canadians Support Increased Access To Assisted Dying, Poll Suggests

A new poll suggests months of controversy has not dampened Canadians’ strong support for expanding access to medical assistance in dying. Sixty-nine per cent of respondents to the Ipsos web-based poll, commissioned by the advocacy group Dying with Dignity Canada, favoured removing the provision that allows assisted dying only for people whose natural deaths are “reasonably foreseeable.”

Nearly 70 per cent of Canadians say next vehicle purchase will be electric

Seven in 10 Canadians who plan to buy a new vehicle within the next five years are likely to buy an electric vehicle (EV) although the lack of a robust charging infrastructure, battery life and range and the purchase price remain persistent concerns. A new survey by KPMG in Canada also indicates that most Canadians will do that within the next 5 years. The key reason is environmental concerns. Interestingly, over half of Canadians believe that EVs (Electric Vehicles) could overpower the electrical grid or eventually be to expensive to operate given rising electricity prices.

In 2019 the average McDonald's drive-thru took six minutes and 18 seconds, but recently the company trimmed that to five minutes and 49 seconds in 2020, according to an annual report from market researcher SeeLevel HX. And with drive-thrus accounting for a larger share of fast-food sales than ever before (in top markets, it's 70% of sales at McDonald's), the race is on for major chains to get those speeds even faster.
