With the American presidential election on the horizon, a new survey shows that Canadians are split on concerns over the U.S. potentially increasing security measures at the border with Canada. The survey, conducted by Nanos Research, found that 46 per cent of respondents across the country said they were concerned or somewhat concerned about the U.S. potentially increasing border security measures for Canadians wishing to visit the U.S., while 52 per cent said they were not concerned or somewhat not concerned. With the Republican presidential primaries underway, several candidates have expressed support for tightening security at the Canadian border.

A record 67.8 million American adults are expected to bet US$23.1 billion on Super Bowl LVIII, according to a new survey conducted by Morning Consult for the American Gaming Association. The estimated number of bettors has increased 35% from the previous Super Bowl, while the total amount being bet is estimated to have shot up from $16 billion in 2023. Both figures would represent records – fitting for a Super Bowl held in Las Vegas, the gambling capital of the U.S.
