Charges will not be laid in response to a fatal dog attack in Calgary in June. At around 2 p.m. on June 5, emergency responders were called to the 1500 block of 21 Avenue N.W. for reports of an 86-year-old woman being attacked by three dogs. EMS took the woman to hospital in life-threatening condition, where she died soon after. “It was determined that the necessary elements to support laying charges for criminal negligence causing death against the owners of the dogs, were not met in relation to this incident,” a CPS release said Tuesday afternoon. The three dogs are a North American pit bull terrier mix, a North American Staffordshire mix and an American pit bull. A 2018 literature review with meta-analysis by breed, focusing on dog bite injuries to the face, head and neck, concluded that "of the cases in which the breed was known, the Pit bull was responsible for the highest percentage of reported bites across all the studies followed by mixed breed and then German Shepherds," and that "injuries from Pit bulls and mixed breed dogs were both more frequent and more severe." -Global News

While seemingly every social media app is copying TikTok, TikTok now appears to be copying Amazon’s playbook. TikTok appears to be looking to create a new logistics and warehousing network in the United States to support its e-commerce efforts, according to several job openings recently posted to its hiring site and LinkedIn page. Like other social networks, TikTok has expanded into e-commerce to add revenue opportunities. TikTok currently offers a shopping option called TikTok Shop in select markets, including the UK and Indonesia, which lets creators and merchants sell products through the platform.-CNN Business
