Bacon prices reach all-time high in Canada

As grocery prices continue to rise, the price of bacon in Canada reached an all-time high last month, according to data from Statistics Canada.? In August 2021, the average price of a 500-gram pack was $8.24, exceeding the $8 mark for the first time ever. When it comes to bacon specifically, Sylvain Charlebois, director of the Agri-Food Analytics Lab, points to the recent strike that affected the Olymel pork processing plant in Vallée-Jonction, Que. "That plant was closed for five months. And so that really had an impact on the supply and how pork was distributed," he told CTVNews.ca on Thursday over the phone. -CTV News

Skittles Is Officially Ditching The Green Apple Flavor And Bringing Back Lime In Its Original Pack

Skittles first introduced its Five Fruity Flavors in 1979, which included Lime as the green piece. In 2013, however, the brand decided to replace the Lime flavor with Green Apple. Many candy fans were not happy with the change. “It’s no secret that Lime has been a hot topic for SKITTLES fans since we replaced them with Green Apple back in 2013. Green Apple has had a good run, but the fans have spoken and it’s time for Lime to return to the rainbow,” Fernando Rodrigues, Mars Wrigley Senior Brand Manager, said in a press release. -Delish.com
