Americans Believe Democratic Party Just as Extreme as Republican Party, New Poll Finds
About half of all Americans believe both major political parties are in need of more moderate candidates, and they are just as likely to view the Democratic party as extreme as they are the Republican party, according to a new survey. The LX News/More in Common/YouGov poll found large chunks of independent voters — and young Americans — increasingly turned off by the two major parties, with many naming polarization as a factor in why they may not vote this fall.-NBC Washington
Survey: 40% of Americans Are Struggling to Pay Household Expenses
The data is in, and it’s not encouraging: More Americans are feeling financially strapped. The latest of the U.S. Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Surveys estimates that 40% of Americans are finding it somewhat or very difficult to pay for household expenses, marking a 13 percentage point increase from a year ago, and an 8-point increase from February. The data reflects a larger picture of concerning trends in the cost of living around the country, as inflation has risen dramatically since early 2021. In August, rising food and housing costs drove an 8.3% annual increase in the consumer price index. In mid-September, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates in an effort to control rising inflation. -USNews.com

TikTok wants to open warehouses
While seemingly every social media app is copying TikTok, TikTok now appears to be copying Amazon’s playbook. TikTok appears to be looking to create a new logistics and warehousing network in the United States to support its e-commerce efforts, according to several job openings recently posted to its hiring site and LinkedIn page. Like other social networks, TikTok has expanded into e-commerce to add revenue opportunities. TikTok currently offers a shopping option called TikTok Shop in select markets, including the UK and Indonesia, which lets creators and merchants sell products through the platform.-CNN Business
