An Ohio sheriff instructed residents to keep a list of homes displaying campaign signs in support of the Democratic presidential nominee, Kamala Harris, and her running mate, Tim Walz, in remarks on social media that caused alarm.
Lawmakers demand an end to 'sham' transaction fees that are adding to the cost of school lunches
A group of senators, led by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, has called on U.S. officials to ban transaction fees on school meal accounts, arguing that private payment processors are unfairly raising costs for families. They urged the Agriculture Department, which oversees the school meal program, to take immediate action. While school meals are often low-cost or free, families are hit with high fees when depositing money into accounts, disproportionately affecting lower-income households. A Consumer Financial Protection Bureau report found that these fees total over $100 million annually, with lower-income families paying up to 60 cents in fees for every $1 spent on school lunches.

Colin Farrell vs Danny DeVito: Who's the better Penguin?
With this week’s new drama “The Penguin,” Oscar-nominated actor Colin Farrell steps back into the role of Oz Cobb, the hardened and upwardly mobile mobster first introduced in 2022’s “The Batman.” The role is a new iteration of the dastardly DC Comics criminal The Penguin, a character that has been portrayed by numerous actors over the years – perhaps most famously by Danny DeVito in Tim Burton’s 1992 film “Batman Returns.” Ahead of his reprisal of the role, Farrell shared that he consulted with DeVito.Farrell said that he and DeVito “shared a few texts back and forth” about the character, but that it was more to joke around “about who’s the best Penguin.
