US happiness sinks as more Americans eat alone
The United States fell to its lowest happiness ranking ever partly due to a rise in the number of Americans eating their meals alone, an annual UN-sponsored report said Thursday.
Federal judge blocks DOGE from accessing Social Security personal information for now
A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked Elon Musk ’s DOGE from Social Security Administration systems that hold personal data on millions of Americans. The decision from U.S. District Judge Ellen Hollander in Maryland also requires the team to delete any personally identifiable data they may have. It comes after labor unions and retirees asked for an emergency order limiting DOGE access to the agency and its vast troves of personal data. They said DOGE’s “nearly unlimited” access violates privacy laws and presents massive information security risks. A recently departed Social Security official who saw the DOGE team sweep into the agency said she is deeply worried about sensitive information being exposed.

French Bulldog crowned most popular dog breed in the U.S. once again
The French bulldog once again reigns supreme, earning the title of most popular dog breed in the country for the third year in a row. The American Kennel Club, the world's largest registry of purebred dogs, revealed its ranking for the most popular dog breeds of 2024 on Tuesday. The top 200 dogs were determined using the Club's registration statistics.
