Chapman University’s latest Survey of American Fears found that roughly half of U.S. adults fear AI could harm politics or the economy, placing both concerns among the country’s top 10 fears.

Republican Ohio governor candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign released an ad featuring Democratic opponent Amy Acton’s estranged mother accusing her of lying about her childhood. Acton has spoken publicly about experiencing poverty, homelessness and sexual abuse as a child. Her brother says they were removed from their mother’s custody after their stepfather was indicted for abuse against Acton and their mother stayed with him. Reporting has documented evidence supporting her account, and the ad has drawn criticism from both Republicans and Democrats for using her traumatic childhood against her.

Airbnb is introducing new rules for reservations booked on or after November 20 that limit the cleaning chores hosts can ask guests to do. Tasks such as stripping beds, doing laundry, and washing and putting away dishes will no longer be allowed, while smaller requests—like placing dirty dishes in the sink or gathering used towels—may still be permitted. The change follows complaints from guests about having to complete chore lists while also paying cleaning fees.
