Toronto's end of summer exhibition, known as the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) started Friday and as usual offers up some weird and very expensive offerings. This year the craziest one is a take on deep fried something, this time deep fried frozen watermelon. That's right! Take a healthy summer snack and turn it into something loaded with calories. This concoction is deep-fried watermelon in a crispy batter, sprinkled with powdered sugar. Would you like to try deep fried frozen watermelon ( and yes it's $12 a serving)?

If it's edible, the CNE believes it would be even better deep fried! They have offered in the past, everything from deep friend Oreos to deep fried butter. This is this year's deep fried offerings. I'll continue the other CNE foods in part two of this survey. Which of these sound appealing?
