Results: Do think hypocrite applies to parents?

My friends kid told him he is a Hypocrite because he got on to her for smoking and he himself is a smoker. I don’t think this word should Apply to a parents because we want our children to be better and have a better life than ourselves.I don’t care if you are rich and successful or poor as dirt, you want your children to have better than you.To educate better.After all this is how we bring up a generation with out sexist and racist people. So what is your opinion is he wrong in punishing his children for something he himself dose or not?
