55% Of Voters Think Controversial TV Show Fashion Police Should Be Taken Off The Air
Should the controversial fashion show that criticizes celebrities for their fashion choices be cancelled? According to a survey conducted by Tellwut Corp, 55% of respondents think that the show Fashion Police should be cancelled, while 21% of voters do not think that the show should be cancelled.
The future of the highly successful talk show Fashion Police is up in the air, after a series of co-hosts have left the show. The show started experiencing issues shortly after the death of Joan Rivers, when co-host Giuliana Rancic commented that starlet Zendaya’s new dreadlocs for the Oscars looks like they “smell like patchouli oil and weed." The comment resulted in a barrage of backlash from Zendaya, fans and other individuals that found the remark to be vastly offensive and ignorant. In fact, co-host Kelly Osbourne even tried to separate herself from the debacle by stating on twitter that she was “giving everyone involved 24 hours to make it right or the world will hear how I really feel."
In an attempt to redeem herself, Giuliana issued an apology via twitter and released a video on the E! Network asking for forgiveness from Zendaya and those she offended. A few days after the apology was issued Kelly Osbourne decided to leave the show. However, it was believed that Osbourne was experiencing issues with the show for some time and decided it was in her best interest to step away.
After Osbourne departed the show, it seemed as if a domino effect had ignited, as Kathy Griffin issued a statement that she would also be leaving.
Griffin stated, "My brand of humor, while unrepentent and unafraid, is all about CONTEXT ... I do not want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance towards difference."
Due to the sudden departure of Griffin after all the buzz surrounding her new gig, and the fact that she only participated in seven episodes; Tellwut panel members were asked whether they were surprised that Griffin decided to leave the show. Survey results found that 67% of respondents where not surprised about Griffin’s departure, while 33% of voters were surprised.
When asked whether panel members preferred Kathy Griffin over the late Joan Rivers, whom she replaced, surveys results found that 57% of panel members preferred Rivers, in contrast to 16% of panel members that preferred Griffin. And 27% of voters remained undecided over which co-host they favored.
As two out of the four seats currently remain open, producers are scrambling to figure out which individuals would be the right fit for the show. As many names have been thrown around in the media to replace Kelly Osbourne, Tellwut polled their panel base to find out which individual they think should fill the spot. Here is the ranking from the responses gathered:
- Khloe Kardashian 35%
- Amber Rose 30%
- NeNe Leakes 20%
- Chrissy Teigen 15%
