Canadians appear to be divided when it comes to privatizing healthcare in the country. A new survey from the Angus Reid Institute has found that Canadians fall into one of three camps on whether or not to expand private healthcare. -CityNews.com
Survey shows support for return of death penalty rising in Canada
The majority of Canadians support reinstating the death penalty for murder, according to a new poll. The online survey, conducted by Vancouver’s Research Co., found 54% of Canadians support relying on capital punishment for murder convictions, showing a three point increase since a similar poll conducted last year. “Almost three-in-five Canadians aged 55 and over (59%, +4) would welcome the return of the death penalty,” said Research Co. President Mario Canseco. As per the survey, Canadians who oppose reinstating capital punishment are primarily worried about the possibility of wrongful conviction and, as a result, the death of an innocent. -WesternStandardNews

How obsessed are Americans with their pets? Enough that almost half are thinking about getting a tattoo of their pet, according to a new survey. The study of 2,000 cat and dog owners found that 25% would consider getting a tattoo of their current pet, while 25% are already planning to get one. -SWNSDigital.com
Half of moms have reluctantly eaten kooky concoctions cooked up by kids
A poll of 2,000 moms with children over eight years-old, finds 46 percent have had their youngsters cook them a “surprise meal” — only to look on in shock at its unappetizing appearance. Exactly half felt they “had to eat” their child’s culinary creation despite what it looked like, as their son or daughter insisted on sitting with them until they finished the “food.” Unfortunately, 82 percent say their child took this as a sign to make food for them more often. It also emerged that 49 percent have pretended to eat a meal their kid made them, while 26 percent of those with dogs admit they ended up giving it to the family pet. -Studyfinds.org
