Should you have a copy of your medical record? These experts say yes

As cyberattacks become more common in the health-care sector, experts say Canadians should have a copy of their medical records. In this digital age, experts argue that having a copy of health records gives patients more control and authority over their care — particularly if those records become inaccessible to health-care providers. "We should have immediate, easy, digital access to it so that we are informed of what's going on in our own health and in our own lives," Tracie Risling, member and past president of the Canadian Nursing Informatics Association. Five southwestern Ontario hospitals impacted by a ransomware attack last month are still trying to recover their systems — a process that is expected to take until mid-December. But with systems down, some patient procedures and treatments have been stalled.

Americans expect to gain 8 pounds before the end of the year


Three-quarters of Americans are planning to enjoy the end of the year and not worry about their diet — up from just half last year, according to a new survey.

Nearly half of Americans think having different movie tastes is a dealbreaker

Forty-five percent of Americans said having different movie tastes is a relationship dealbreaker. 37% of Americans stream movies or TV shows the most with their partner, more so than their children (14%) or their parents (14%). Conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Tubi, the survey also found the average person reportedly streams a whopping 1,112 hours of content a year. It’s about 21 hours a week, which equates to a part time job.
