American travelers who do not currently have valid US passports may not be able to travel overseas this summer due to extensive wait times as the State Department deals with a backlog of more than a million applications caused largely by the coronavirus pandemic, a department official said Wednesday.

The committee charged with helping Republicans wrest control of the House in 2022 raised $45.4 million over the last three months, a record quarterly haul during a year without a national election. That total was bolstered by $20.1 million raised in June, the highest ever monthly off-year total. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee last week announced that it had raised $14.4 million in June, bringing its second-quarter total to about $36.5 million — its best ever for that stretch.

The vast majority of emoji users (90%) believe they make it easier for them to express themselves. Eighty-nine percent of respondents said emojis simplify communicating across language barriers. And 67% said they think people who use emojis are friendlier, funnier and cooler than those who don't.

Comedian Sheryl Underwood, who has been with “The Talk” since 2011, announced Tuesday that Jerry O’Connell would be joining the daytime talk show as a full-time co-host, making him the first man to do so. “This is interesting,” one person tweeted. “I think a male voice would be a different dynamic to the convo. I wonder if other daytime talk shows would consider this move.”
