As businesses are getting ready to welcome employees back to their offices, one building may have gone too far. A downtown Toronto building was asked to remove signage that was meant to welcome employees back to the office last week, but instead went too far. Oxford Properties had placed signs in a building's lobby "in an attempt to be lighthearted." One sign reads: "Seriously, we missed you," while another asks: "Miss your sweatpants yet?" A third sign reads: "Bet your dog's missing you." If you were an employee coming back to work after two years, would you appreciate these signs?

Some passersby were not pleased with the messaging. Comments on social media included , "I thought the signs were not very nice to those people who were starting to go back to the office. My employer has embraced the hybrid model and I'm thankful for that", and some expressed disappointment — with one calling the signs "belittling" and "condescending." "The dog one would make me turn around and go back home," one Twitter user wrote. Do you think the building signage overstepped?

A survey by the Business Development Bank of Canada last year found that 55% of employees would like to continue to work from home even when the pandemic is over. And some felt that they would prefer working from home, but would go into the office when required to do so. Do you think the hybrid office setup (working from home/office visits when required) is here to stay?
