In a video by a YouTuber specializing in money-making ideas, I recently watched--or was reminded of?--the opportunity of selling one's stool samples to benefit others by those stools' insertion into other people's digestive tracts to replenish the healthy bacteria that have disappeared from those people's gastrointestinal tracts due to illness, poor lifestyle choices, etc. Such transplants can also benefit some issues of patients with certain mental health ailments and other conditions. Before you began reading this question, had you heard of these uses for human feces? Yes

If this poll's title seems hyperbolic in terms of the profitability of donating one's solid digestive waste for medical use, per the aforementioned YouTuber and the website of the business he recommended to pursue this income opportunity--HumanMicrobes.org--sending a sample daily to the company (the patients being helped [or their insurers?] pay for the dry ice, packaging, shipping and other expenses to transport the substance) can earn a sample donor US $180,000/year. with other opportunities to earn a total upwards of $1,000,000/year. If you were skittish about or made queasy by the idea of this income opportunity, are you less or not at all skittish or queasy now?

Because of the... perceived... ickiness factor associated wth this activity and potential for embarrassment for donors, everything is handled anonymously as possible from Human Microbes' side. Even the donors interviewed on the company website to give potental participants an idea of what they're in for are identified only by ID numbers and not their names nor initials. Were you to become a donor of this type, would you want others to know about your making this kind of donation (or sale, really)? Yes, why not?

As you m i g h t have imagined or already know, not everyone is qualified to sell their digestive leftovers. As stated on Human Microbe's website, "Donors must be in exceptional physical and mental health. Ideally, top young athletes... Ideally, donors would be under 30 years old.... Donors should have minimal antibiotic use." Also, without getting too graphic, the company is seeking samples of a particular type. Do you believe you're fit to participiate?

Condidering Human Microbes' ideal profile of person whose dung they collect, I can imagine the company raising its profile and. possibly, encourage many more people to jolin their program by advertising on the broadcasts of or otherwise sponsoring collegiate and professional sports events. I have an idea that it could eliminate or lessen whatever stigma yet surrounds participating in a valid, useful activity. Do you agree? Yes
