SpaceX on Friday kicked off the first of two rocket launches this weekend with a smashing success. But part of the rocket did something extra-special right after launch: Its first-stage booster — the vehicle's biggest and most expensive section — fell back to Earth, reignited its engines, and safely landed on the deck of a barge.
