On April 5, 2023, conservative political pundit Charlie Kirk said this in a speech in the wake of the shooting at Christian Covenant School in Nashville, Tennessee – which claimed the lives of three children and three adults. Kirk said that gun deaths in exchange for the preservation of Second Amendment Rights is a part of America's reality. Today, Kirk was shot during a speech at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Although it is still not clear what the motive was, or who the shooter was, one thing is clear. Another violent gun death, or as the victim in this case claimed, an "unfortunate" cost of protecting the Second Amendment in the U.S. While most of us agree that violence is never the answer, some still refuse to acknowledge that gun laws in the U.S. are the problem.
