A woman in Brooklyn ran a red light, resulting in the death of a woman pedestrian and her two children. The driver was traveling 68 mph in a 25 mph zone. She had a suspended license, a long record of traffic violations, more than $12,000 in outstanding fines at the time of the crash, more than 20 speeding tickets at the time of the crash, and six red light camera violations. In return for pleading guilty to reckless manslaughter, she has been sentenced to three to nine years in prison, less than the maximum, which is only five to 15 years.
