In 2022 i remember a story where an older couple female 50's male 60's who handed out some cannabis Nerd candies for Halloween. they were charged with 13 counts each of distributing cannabis to a young person and distributing cannabis knowing it's illicit. No reports of kids being harmed. They claimed it was an accident. Do you think you could ever hand out edible cannabis candy out by accident? Yes
