Results: Italian scientists convicted of manslaughter for failing to predict earthquake
Published on 10/28/2012
Recently, Italy convicted seven former members of Italy's "Great Risks Commission" for manslaughter because they failed to adequately warn of the 2009 earthquake. On October 23, 2012, four top Italian disaster experts quit their posts saying the manslaughter convictions of the seven former colleagues means that they can't effectively perform their duties either for fear of being charged with a crime. The "Great Risks Commission" members state they cannot always predict exactly when a major earthquake will hit. What do you think of this conviction?

Sounds like they will not have anybody to help warn of a possible earthquake of an intensity that could cause damage.
