Results: The John Birch Society
Published on 09/04/2025
Founded by Robert Welch in 1958 and headquartered in Wisconsin, the John Birch Society (JBS) is a right-wing political advocacy group. Welch and other conservatives created the group to combat the perceived threat of communism. Adverse to progression, the group opposes the Civil Rights Movement and the Equal Rights Amendment. Political observers note that the JBS has assisted in forming the Republican party, the Christian Right and the Trump administration.
