A couple of questions about politics vs. art and representation vs. political stance. There are only two questions but you might need to read the links to get a real view. I understand that many will just want to answer n/a but hope for some to take the time to respond.

In a recent incident, a concert in Italy to be conducted by the famous Russian maestro Valery Gergiev was called off due to his close friendship with Putin and alignment with his views. Link: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/jul/21/russian-conductor-valery-gergiev-italian-concert-called-off-after-outcry-putin What is your thinking? The concert should have gone on as planned despite public protest. Art and politics should be separate

Ideally, the concert should have taken place for the reasons above, but cancellation was needed due to possible violence

Montreal Pride, which runs the Pride Parade in Toronto, has banned several Jewish groups from participating while condemning genocide in Gaza. My question is not about the latter action but abut the banning of LGBTQ+ groups from a Pride Parade. Link: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/pride-montreal-conflict-1.7598907 What is your opinion? Pride is about human rights and not just LGBTQ+ rights. Zionism denies human rights and those espousing it should be banned

As in the first question, the groups ideally should be allowed to participate but should be banned if violence or disruption is likely to occur due to their participation

Pride has lost its purpose. It is supposed to be about LGBTQ+ rights and none other. Groups espousing any sort of views on other subjects should either be banned or not allowed to espouse their beliefs during the parade. This means both all pro-Zionist and all pro-Palestinian organizations along with anyone else taking a stance on issues other than LGBTQ+ rights.

Any LGBTQ+ group should be allowed in a Pride parade. There should be no bans.

The groups should not be banned because this is disguised antisemitism

I have to admit I feel moral ambiguity about both of these stories. Have you ever confronted a news item or personal situation in which you were not sure what the proper ethical choice was? Yes
