A veteran Republican fundraising strategist trashed President Donald Trump and the GOP as he explained why he was leaving the party after more than a decade as an “accomplice.” Miles Bruner wrote in a lengthy piece for the Bulwark that he had quit his job as a senior fundraising strategist at Campaign Solutions, a Republican digital fundraising firm in Washington, D.C., after deciding that he had “finally had enough.” The source for this survey is the article, "Veteran GOP Fundraiser Quits Party, Trashes Donald Trump" by Khaleda Rahman of Newsweek.
1. "Since Donald Trump descended that golden escalator in 2015, the Republican party has devolved into a cult of personality that mirrors the worst authoritarian regimes of the last one hundred years," Bruner wrote. "Since his return to office in January, Trump has sought to consolidate his authority, pursue a campaign of retribution against his perceived enemies and purge the government of those considered insufficiently loyal to him. He has also waged an aggressive campaign against the media, mirroring the actions of authoritarian leaders to silence dissent." Do you agree with Miles Bruner's opinion of President Trump's anti-American, authoritarian actions?

2. Bruner wrote that the GOP had for a decade "waged an unrelenting war on our civic institutions, the separation of powers, the foundation of the rule of law, and the very nature of truth itself." He said that while Trump and his allies in Congress "have been the driving force behind the right's descent into despotism, it would not have been possible without the thousands of consultants, aides, and politicos working behind the scenes to fully execute their systematic dismantling of American democratic norms." Do you support President Trump's attempt to remake America into a right-wing, authoritarian dictatorship?
