The Minnesota Iceman is a sideshow exhibit and elaborate hoax that depicts a fake man-like creature frozen in a block of ice. It was displayed at shopping malls, state fairs, and carnivals in the United States and Canada in the 1960s and early 1970s and promoted as the "missing link" between Homo sapiens and Neanderthals. It was sold on eBay in 2013 and put on display in Austin, Texas. The creature has been described as male, human-like, 6 ft (~1.8 m) tall, hairy, with large hands and feet, very dark brown hair about 3 - 4 inches (~9 cm) long, and a flattened nose. One of its arms appeared to be broken and one of its eyes appeared to have been knocked out of its socket, allegedly by a bullet that was said to have entered the creature's head from behind. After investigating, scientists from the Smithsonian Institution determined that it was likely to be a hoax. Does this seem more like a tourist trap attraction than an urban legend?

The Wendigo. Originating from Native American legend, Wendigo means an "evil spirit that devours mankind" or as a German explorer translated to mean "cannibal". The Wendigo roams the upper regions of Minnesota with an insatiable hunger for human flesh. This supernatural creature stands 15 feet tall, severely thin and gaunt, with glowing eyes, long yellow fangs, an overly long tongue, and matted hair. The Wendigo's sallow yellow and ash gray skin emits a sour odor of decay. According to legend, a Wendigo is created when someone resorts to cannibalism. In the bitter north winters many settlers stranded by severe weather would resort to cannibalism creating the Wendigo. A Wendigo is also said to be capable of possessing humans resulting in several documented cases of cannibalism where men consume their own families even when there were food supplies near. From the 1800s to the 1920s reported sightings of the Wendigo occurred in Roseau, Minnesota. After each sighting an unexpected death followed. Never satiated, the Wendigo will wander searching for its next meal. Wendigo's stretch over various US states and also Canada. But the sightings in Minnesota is why it gets mentioned for their state first and foremost. But have you've heard of this creature?

Pepie is Minnesota's very own lake monster, rumored to inhabit the depths of Lake Pepin, on the Mississippi River between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Often compared to the infamous Loch Ness Monster, Pepie has been described as a large, serpentine creature that eludes capture while sparking fascination among locals and visitors alike. The legend of Pepie stretches back centuries, with Native American tribes recounting tales of a mysterious aquatic creature that prowled the waters of Lake Pepin. Early European settlers also reported seeing strange disturbances on the lake's surface, describing a long-necked creature that would rise above the waves before swiftly disappearing. Pepie's presence was initially viewed as an ominous sign, but over time, the monster has become more of a local mascot — a symbol of the mysterious beauty of Minnesota's lakes. Do you believe there could be a water creature in the lake?

Pike Island. A tragic tale of the brutality against Native Americans. The island's reputation for being haunted stems directly from the aftermath of the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862. Following the conflict, the U.S. government forced more than 1,600 Dakota women, children, and elderly men into a heavily guarded internment camp right on the lowlands of Pike Island. The prisoners spent the harsh winter of 1862–1863 completely exposed to the elements with minimal food, poor clothing, and virtually no shelter.A devastating cholera and measles epidemic swept through the crowded camp. Between 130 and 300 Dakota people died over just a few months. And In May 1863, the starving survivors were loaded onto steamboats and permanently exiled to reservations in South Dakota and Nebraska. Because so many victims were buried in shallow, unmarked graves across the island, the land is viewed by many as an open cemetery and a place of profound historical trauma. Reports of Visitors walking the island's loop trail at twilight frequently report seeing the glow of small campfires through the trees. When people approach the source of the light, the fires instantly vanish into thin air, leaving no ashes or smoke. Also voices that Paranormal researchers and casual hikers have captured Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVPs) across the island. Witnesses describe hearing the sound of weeping or voices murmuring in an unidentifiable native language near the riverbanks. And the sensation of being watched as visitors report an overwhelming, heavy energy or the distinct sensation of being followed or watched from the thick brush. Do you believe this island is haunted by the spirits of Natives?

First Avenue. Located in Minneapolis before it was a famous "danceteria," First Avenue was a Greyhound depot. Legend has it that one of the bathrooms in the 1,550-capacity concert hall is haunted by the ghost of a woman who hung herself in the bus station after her lover — a World War II soldier — didn't return home. Workers have reported screams and cries emanating from the fifth stall; others claim to have seen a full-body apparition with a noose hanging around its neck and warn one another not to enter the restroom with the lights off. Staff, patrons, and ghost hunters frequently report seeing a blonde woman in a green coat or vintage military jacket. DJs and concertgoers have also seen the dead woman bogeying down with other specters in the dance lounge upstairs. Curiously, neither the woman nor any member of her frightful entourage has legs. Have ever seen a spirit?
