1. Emily Dickinson was born in Amherst, Massachusetts on December 10, 1830 to well to do parents. Although she wrote nearly 1,800 poems only ten were published during her lifetime. Known for her reclusive nature, she was considered an eccentric by nature, she never married nor had any children, and most of her friendships were through correspondence. Although she lived in a very different time period where women couldn't really do much and were considered the property of their husbands or fathers she was highly gifted and intelligent. Are you a fan of Emily Dickinson?

2. There are countless quotes from Emily Dickinson's poems, so it is obviously impossible to list them all, so I found some that are more well known and that I find enjoyable. Which of the following quotes from Emily Dickinson do you like?

3. It just amazes me how a woman whose life didn't change very much and who never really had much experience in life could write such amazing poetry. Do you think it would be strange to see life go on all around you, your parents get older, and people your age moving on while your life is virtually unchanged since childhood?
