The novel "Twice" is a New York Times bestseller by Mitch Albom. I love to read and science fiction is one of my favorite genres. However, this book made me stop and think about some of my life's decisions and what I would do if given second chances.

Alfie Logan can undo any moment and live it again. Pretty neat, huh? But there are clear rules. He must accept the consequences of the do-over and whatever moment he goes back to, he must live until he gets back to the current time. There's also a caveat to his power; once he undoes a love relationship, that person will never fall in love with him again. Are these rules you could abide by if given this ability?

Our tale begins with an older, ailing Alfie arrested by a detective in the Bahamas concerning a suspiciously large roulette win. The detective's questions prompt Alfie to relate the story of his life and his extraordinary ability. Have you been to the Bahamas?

Obviously the detective is not falling for this but Alfie is determined to prove he didn't cheat to win. He gives Detective LaPorta a handwritten composition book that tells the story of his life and how he only has to think of a past time and say the word "twice" to get back to that point. Some of Alfie's "do overs" were merely to correct awkward or embarrassing moments in his youth. Do you have things or events you wish you could do over?

Other decisions made by Alfie produced catastrophic results either way. I don't want to give away any twists or turns to those who might be considering whether to read the book or not. But I will ask this question. If given this amazing ability, would you prefer to use it for business/career purposes or for personal purposes?
