Dame Patricia Routledge (1929-2025), best known for her portrayal of notorious snob Hyacinth Bucket in "Keeping Up Appearances" (1990-1995) has died at the age of 96. She passed away peacefully in her sleep. In a career lasting seven decades, she had many roles on stage and screen, including Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, To Sir, With Love, Victoria Wood As Seen On TV, and Alan Bennett's Talking Heads. As well as her acting career, she was also a talented singer, appearing in several Broadway productions, and releasing her own album in 1973. She was made a Dame in 2017 by the Queen, for services to entertainment and charity.
