Jose Eber the hairstylist to fancy people, Carl Ballantine from McHale’s Navy tv show. Quick, meaningless introduction to Steven Spielberg. Rode the elevator with a dozen or so GOP big names while in NYC during the Republican Convention and staying in the same hotel. Hung out briefly with James “Badge” Dale (of 24 fame and many other roles) and made small talk while my friend was getting ready for her date with him. Oh, mayyyyybe this counts as a celebrity, but I have been best friends since childhood with a “famous” Lowrider magazine cover girl who also did a couple of super-crappy B movies, Raquel Maldonado. Yes, strangers have come up to us and asked her for a picture or autograph.

I knew Maureen O'hara slightly when she was wife of our chief pilot and founder of the airline I worked for in the 60s, Antilles Airboats. When her husband General Charlie Blair died in a plane crash in one of his seaplanes, she became the first women to be the head of an airline! When working there I checked in at least two famous people who were flying between St Thomas and St Croix, US Virgin Islands, who were there on vacation. Harry O actor, David Janssen, and Charles Bronson, both of whom were polite and unostentatious.

Too many to mention as I grew up in LOs ANgeles and went to Hollywood High School. One of my best friends was Johnny Carsons son so I went to the Carson show whenever Santana played or Robin Williams was on. Dated the son of Levinson for a year. Most of my friends worked at NBC or Warners or Disney so went to parties of above. The best was when I was in elementary school and went to all the Disney Christmas parties. They gave out expensive presents. We got to meet stars of our favorite shows. All my friends were or are down to earth just regular people.

Red Aurbach (sp?) of Boston Celtics, Art Garfunkel, and James Taylor were all clients of a law firm where I once worked and they were often visitors to those offices. Chaka Kahn often sang - and mixed with us customers - at a Boston nightclub when she was a student at Boston Conservatory of Music. BJ Thomas and his group once performed at a club where I waitressed as a second job and would mingle with the staff after closing.

While stationed in England, met regularly the high school group who formed the musical group 'America'. My son just missed out on being their drummer by two grades. They were (are) dependents of Air Force personnel. Also in Berlin, Germany was in charge of transportation for President Reagan, Nancy Reagan, Rosemary Clooney, Katey Sagal (Peggy Bundy) and others. It was President Reagan's famous speech where he told the Russian leader, Gorbachev, to 'tear down this wall' (which happened Nov. 9, 1989.
