"Don't think about making women fit the world‬ – ‪think about making the world fit women."‬ Gloria Steinem, a co-founder of Ms. magazine, was a hugely recognizable presence wherever she went. And she went everywhere: Much of her life as an advocate was spent on the road, speaking at college campuses and community centers, at rallies and marches. She devoted her life advocating for women's rights -- in the workplace, at home, in the media, and in every aspect of their lives. Did you follow the career of Ms. Steinem?

"Women have always been an equal part of the past. We just haven't been a part of history."‬ For decades, even centuries, women have been relegated to that "second class", paid less, expected to work twice as hard for everything, been called "the weaker sex", assumed to be less ambitious and often defined by their bodies instead of their minds. Steinem could not just allow this to persist, so she became the "voice" for a generation of women who just wanted their seat at the table. Do you feel that we still have a long way to go before women are seen truly as equal in every way?

"We badly need to raise our boys more like our girls." Steinem believed that if society would teach boys the positive, nurturing traits traditionally encouraged in girls, such as empathy, emotional vulnerability, and cooperation that the world would benefit immensely. Feminism is a movement and belief system that works to establish full social, economic, and political equality for all genders, but to work efficiently, all genders must equally learn from each other.
