Results: Ensign Pavel Chekov
As actor Anton Yelchin, best known for playing Ensign Pavel Chekov in the Star Trek reboots, left his house on June 19, 2016, he pulled his Jeep Grand Cherokee out of the garage and drove toward the security gate at the bottom of his steeply inclined driveway. He placed the car in what he believed was "Park" and exited the vehicle. Investigators later determined the vehicle's electronic "monostable" shifter had actually left the car in Neutral. As Yelchin walked toward his gate, the 2.5-ton Jeep rolled backward down the slope. Before he could react, the rolling vehicle pinned him against a heavy brick mailbox pillar attached to his security fence. The Los Angeles County Coroner determined he died within roughly one minute of impact. His official cause of death was listed as blunt traumatic asphyxia.

Anton Yelchin brought a vibrant energy to Pavel Chekov in the Kelvin Timeline Star Trek films, making the young navigator unforgettable with his quick-thinking charm, frantic accent, and genuine warmth on the bridge. Out of deep respect for his memory, director J.J. Abrams permanently retired the character following Yelchin's tragic passing, deciding that no other actor could step into the role. Select the option that best reflects your take on Anton's portrayal:
Pure cinematic gold - His legendary struggle with voice-authorization codes - specifically pronouncing "wictor, wictor" - stole every scene.
