Most video games require players to always be online just to be able to play. You will be hard pressed to find games that even have an offline mode. And most of these games are filled to the brim with questionable monetization practices like battle passes and "premium" currency.

Back to the days of Atari 2600 and offer game cartridge games through the internet. Make the more popular ones paid to game but have plenty of free to play games. Oh and there are far too many games out there that are multi-player. I played one long ago 'Twilight Bracelet' based on an anime series whose title I have forgotten. The game play itself was great but try and ask another player(s) re the game and they are all yakking re everything but the game itself! Such is true of almost all multiplayer games sad to say.

Less digital, less online, less battle passes, less microtransactions, less dlc and less mindless playing the same few maps over and over and over and over doing the exact same thing over and over and over and over. More complete games that are engaging and tell a good story.

The large companies need to really look at how they set up their teams because I find they usually solve problems by hiring more people, which in turn constantly increases the budget of games every year.

I think getting back to offering games on physical media would be nice. I'm a player that likes to own my media and not have it sitting up in the cloud. Physical media I can control and play whenever. If a company decides to change a game or worse discontinue a game that is cloud based, you are screwed.

Each of the major gaming companies have pros and cons, there are games from each that I really enjoy but as I've grown older I prefer Xbox Microsoft because the controller layout doesn't change as drastically as the others do
