Results: These riddles are meant for kids but I think only one of my four grand-kids is up to the task. I think adults will do no better. Are you up to the challenge (he asked rhetorically)?

Some of these are new (to me anyway) and some have been around for a long time. Some of them will make you groan when you find out the answer and some will probably make you hurl abuse at poor DavKar for forcing these mental gymnastics upon you. Do try and have fun.

This is an oldie. "A traveler comes to a fork in the road which leads to two villages. In one village the people always tell lies, and in the other village the people always tell the truth. The traveler needs to conduct business in the village where everyone tells the truth. From the villager's answer, he knows which road to follow. What did the traveler ask? " Do you know the answer (Yes). The actual answer will be announced later. Yes

Who is in the painting?" Do you know the answer (Yes). The actual answer will be announced later. Yes

You may need a pen and paper to work this one out. This one is so old you might need a quill and papyrus. "A man has to get a fox, a chicken, and a sack of corn across a river. He has a rowboat, and it can only carry him and one other thing. If the fox and the chicken are left together, the fox will eat the chicken. If the chicken and the corn are left together, the chicken will eat the corn. How does the man do it?" Do you know the answer (Yes). The actual answer will be announced later. Yes

This one is probably a groaner. "A farmer in California owns a beautiful pear tree. He supplies fruit to a nearby grocery store. The store owner has called the farmer to see how much fruit is available for him to purchase. The farmer know that the main trunk has 24 branches. Each branch has 12 boughs and each bough has 6 twigs. Since each twig bears one piece of fruit, how many plums will the farmer be able to sell?" Do you know the answer (Yes). The actual answer will be announced later. Yes

Here are the answers and I hope y'all got some fun out of this. Which one did you get right? Let me know if you want any more like this. He should take whatever road the villager points to. If the villager is telling the truth the traveler will reach the truthful village. If the villager lies he will point to the same village since he is a liar and will not point to his own village.
