Star Fox 64, released on the Nintendo 64 in 1997, is considered one of the best video games in gaming history. It was the first game to use a Rumble Pak. This was an add-on to the controller that rumbled with certain actions in the game, creating a 4D experience. When playing a video game, would you rather use a controller, or mouse-and-keyboard?

The character of Star Fox McCloud was inspired by fox statues that guard the shrines of O-Inari. O-Inari is a Japanese deity with many associations, mostly concerning rice cultivation and foxes. Fox McCloud's red scarf is in reference to the red scarves which don the fox statues. Do you know of any other Japanese deities?

There have been 8 games released in the main series. The last one, Star Fox 2, was supposed to be the sequel to the original Star Fox. However, it was cancelled in favor of rebooting the story with Star Fox 64. Over 20 years later, Star Fox 2 would be released for the SNES Classic Edition in 2017 and the Nintendo Switch in 2019. Is there an old game from your childhood that you wish you could play again?
