Sorry, this has nothing to do with the Pink Floyd song, but time machines. Time travel a pretty common element in sci-fi tales. Typically this involves a device to get one from point A to B. Below a few from movies.

Time After Time - H. G. Wells 1895 The Time Machine is the earliest novel I know of featuring such a device. Film adaptations I've seen give it a steampunk look one thinks it couldn't possibly work. One of my fave spins is the 1979 flick Time After Time. Wells actually creates a machine, finds a acquaintance of his is Jack the Ripper and chases him to the future. Time travel out of the picture, would you actually chase after someone you knew who was a killer?

Phone booth - Doctor Who has his TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space), which looks like a police box from the outside. Bill and Ted get a phone booth for their excellent adventure, tripping around nabbing people for a school history presentation. I've not seen a phone booth in years, any still in the area you live?

The DeLorean - want to go in style, this is one way. The Back to the Future films feature a time machine built into the car. Gets modifications throughout allowing flight and some issues with power and getting up to speed. Ever own a DeLorean or know someone who does?
