Louisiana has a significant and diverse history of scary movies, with many filmmakers leveraging its unique landscapes and culture—from the eerie bayous and plantations to the gothic atmosphere of New Orleans—to inspire movies like The Skeleton Key and Interview with the Vampire. 1. The Unholy - Jefferson Parish. This movie was released in the year 1988. An archbishop (Hal Holbrook) puts a priest (Ben Cross) in a New Orleans parish where Satan poses as a temptress in black. Does this sound like a movie you'd want to watch?

2. The Cat and the Canary - Random Bayou. This movie was released in the year 1939. Ten years after Cyrus Norman's death, his will is read to six relatives at his spooky mansion. As Joyce is named the inheritor, a housekeeper predicts death, and everyone is shocked when the lawyer is found dead. Does this sound like a movie you'd want to watch?

3. Hatchet - New Orleans. This movie was released in the year 2006. Ben and Marcus, college students in New Orleans, join a boat tour of a cursed bayou during Mardi Gras. Their guide tells ghost stories, but soon, group members start disappearing. Does this sound like a movie you'd want to watch?
