Peter Brian Gabriel is an English musician who was the original lead singer for the band Genesis. After leaving the group in 1975, he had a successful solo career. He's been inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame twice and done several studio and live albums as well as soundtracks. (His next studio one will be I/O on December 1st, 2023). Rather than a greatest hits compilation, going to touch on the sort of material he's done...

In 2003, Gabriel put out a 2 CD set called Hit which also featured what he considered Miss in terms of his songs, (though I'd argue with that). In any case, some of his tunes are more popular upbeat pop types, Sledge Hammer, Steam. One of the better known ones is probably In Your Eyes, made popular from the film Say Anything. Do you and your significant other have a song you consider 'yours'?
Yes - that we do, though may or may not be willing to share it.

Gabriel also did tunes on more series subjects, Biko, I Hold the Line, I Grieve. Games Without Frontiers deals with the idea of nations of the world in conflict, and maybe the best way to play this out is in games, such as the Olympics rather than killing each other. This is the original video for it which I found a bit creepy due to the baby dolls. What's your take on the world is one big game and better ways of dealing with our differences than war?
There is The Temptations tune that states "War, what is it good for?" Better ways of handling matters.

As Tina Tina Turner states in her tune One of the Living, "They want to fight, and sometimes you got to". Not a pretty thought but perhaps sometimes necessary.

The soundtracks - While Gabriel's songs have been featured in many movies and shows, he also composed a few film soundtracks. Here's the trailer for Rabbit Proof Fence, based on the true tale of a trio of aboriginal girls fleeing from resettlement / education in Australia following the fence of the title. Below is a list, any you've seen?

OVO- was written for a multi-media show to commemorate the year 2000 at the Millennium Dome in London. The story concerns a girl of the 'Earth People' in love with a boy of the 'Sky People'. Complicating matters is her brother is a technical whiz building machines and tower. In The Time of the Turning / The Weaver's Reel, the mother of the Earth family has a vision of what's to come. I've used lyrics from Time of the Turning before in replies and curious what folks think about such matters...
Yes - the world is going through changes, and perhaps better off to say our goodbyes.

Yes - the world is 'turning' but come on, things can be turned around if people focus on various matters.
