2. "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" originally recorded by Andy Williams in 1963 (although he did not write it) has become a holiday classic. This is my favourite version of this song. But it has a line that sounds more "Halloween" than Christmas. The line "There'll be scary ghost stories and tales of the glories of Christmases long, long ago" reflects a Victorian tradition where telling supernatural tales, like Dickens' A Christmas Carol, was a common Christmas activity, even though it seems more suited to Halloween today. Do you ever tell scary ghost stories at Christmas or any other holiday you celebrate at this time of year?
3. Now for something just a little bit different. Quirky, whimsical and unique -- these words describe Sia and this song "Ho Ho Ho", which she wrote and released on her Christmas album "Everyday Is Christmas" in 2017. If you have never had a family or no longer see them, the holidays can be tough. "Ho Ho Ho" describes the fun of just being able to let loose with your friends, with all the other outcasts, because you have nowhere to go for Christmas. Have you ever spent Christmas with a group of people who really don't have anywhere else to be, in reality forming your own "family"?
