When I was young Music played a big role in our lives. We often had sing a longs, and my father enjoyed playing the piano for the young people who loved to sing. Here are some of our long time favorites
1. This is a much loved orchestral piece composed by Leroy Anderson in July 1948. "Sleigh Ride" although not originally written for Christmas has so many associations and memories for Christmas. My father would play this piece of music on Christmas Day as a prelude to opening our presents...... Played here by The Boston Pops Orchestra under John Williams. Are you familiar with "Sleigh Ride"?

2. "Winter Wonderland" was composed by Felix Bernard (music) and written by Richard Bernhard Smith (lyrics) in 1934, becoming a popular winter and Christmas standard after its original recording by Richard Himber and countless covers by other artists. One of our family favorites in the Winter months. Have you heard this song before?

3. Bob Hope & Marilyn Maxwell in "The Lemon Drop Kid" (1951)"Silver Bells" was composed by the songwriting duo Jay Livingston (music) and Ray Evans (lyrics) in 1950, intended for Bob Hope's film "The Lemon Drop Kid", though it became a Christmas classic after Bing Crosby's famous recording. Have you....?
