At least one big metal music festval's coming to my state next year, and much of its lineup's in order. And some metal bands' names tickle me more than their music. Do you, as I do, find Weekend Nachos a hoot of a name for a band?

Texas Toast Chainsaw Massacre, judging from this video for the song that shares their name, have a sense of humor at last equal to how I'm amused by their name. Do you find their name funny, too?

They have a tasteless name at the expense of the memory of one of Saturday Night Live's original Not Ready For Prime Time Players (though they insist it's not related to John Belshi's drug overdose death), but Belushi Speed Ball are fun-loving goofs who gave me a fun interview. Does their name amuse you?

Iron Reagan cleverly, I maintain, mash up the name of a dead U.S. president and that of one of the more succesasful groups to come of Great Britain's 1970's-'80's new wave of heavy metal. Whether or not you recognize both components of their name, does it at least give you a chuckle?

The band name that may amuse me most among the acts coming to the festival in question in 2026 is Polkadot Cadaver. Their music's arguably crazed as their moniker. But does their name give you giggles?
