Disney's Wish (2023) failed due to poor critical reception, a weak marketing campaign that failed to clarify the plot, and intense competition during its Thanksgiving release. Intended as a 100th-anniversary celebration, it was criticized as a formulaic, "corporate product" resulting in a reported $131 million loss. However, like most Disney movies, it featured some great songs, although many felt the Top 40 sound wasn't fit for a Disney movie. As stand-alone songs, though, many were quote memorable, most notably this beautiful song by singer-songwriter Julia Michaels and her frequent collaborator Benjamin Rice, who wrote many of the songs in the movie. This Wish is sung by Ariana DeBose in the movie. Did you like this movie and do you like this song?

While not a massive disaster in terms of total revenue, Disney's The Hunchback Of Notre Dame (1996) was a disappointment domestically given the high expectations after The Lion King. Its dark themes didn't resonate with the family audience as expected. And although the music was considered "too intense" for a Disney movie, it is widely considered to have one of Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz's best soundtracks, featuring epic numbers like "Hellfire" and "Out There".
