Eurovision is celebrating its 70th birthday this year, and while the song contest is wildly popular in Europe, many here in North America have never heard about it. I have created a poll on this song contest for the last four years, and still bet many here have never heard about it. This year, the contest in held in Vienna, Austria after their contestant last year won (that's how they chose the host country) with semi-finals May 12 and 14, and the grand finale May 16. Do you watch Eurovision?

The songs are a mix of power ballads, novelty songs, campy, traditional -- there are no rules other than the song must be written by someone from the country competing (not necessarily performed by someone from that country), no instruments can be played on stage and no more than six people on stage. But almost anything else goes, as proven by this performance from this year's first semi-final. Do you enjoy campy, out-there performances like this one?

I much prefer the dramatic, more traditional songs like this one from my favourite so far in the contest, from Croatia. Do you think this performance is powerful?

You may not have heard about Eurovision, but you definitely know their most famous winner -- ABBA, who won in 1974, for Sweden with this song. Is this one of your favourite ABBA songs (it obviously was a favourite when it won that year for them)?
