Rita Coolidge, during the 1970s and 1980s, had her music all over Billboard magazine's pop, country, adult contemporary, and jazz charts, and she won two Grammy Awards with fellow musician and then-husband Kris Kristofferson. Rita was more an interpreter of songs, as most of her hits were covers of songs done by others. Her voice, however, added to the songs in a way few female singers of her time could, and made big hits out of these songs. Even though she hasn't released any new music, she still performs to this day, although she has stopped performing internationally in the last few years.
